SME Bumiputera Chamber of Commerce Sabah (SBCCS)

The SME Bumiputera Chamber of Commerce Sabah (SBCCS) is a representative business organisation dedicated to empowering Bumiputera entrepreneurs in Sabah, with a strong focus on the growth and sustainability of Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs). SBCCS serves as a strategic platform that strengthens economic competitiveness, expands business networks, and supports inclusive entrepreneurship development across the state.

As the official voice of Bumiputera SMEs in Sabah, SBCCS actively engages with the State and Federal Governments, regulatory agencies, financial institutions, academia, and industry partners to advocate policies and initiatives that are practical, inclusive, and responsive to the real needs of SMEs. Through structured dialogue and collaboration, the Chamber ensures that the interests of Bumiputera entrepreneurs are effectively represented at both policy and implementation levels.

SBCCS places strong emphasis on capacity building and entrepreneurship development, delivering structured programmes in business management, financial literacy, marketing, leadership, governance, and sustainable entrepreneurship. Mentoring and coaching initiatives further support early-stage and growth-stage entrepreneurs, with targeted programmes for youth, women, and rural communities, ensuring inclusive participation in Sabah’s economic development.

Recognising the importance of digital transformation, SBCCS actively promotes digitalisation and innovation adoption among its members. The Chamber supports the use of e-commerce platforms, digital business systems, automation, and foundational Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools through advisory clinics, technical guidance, and partnerships with universities and technology agencies, helping SMEs enhance productivity, efficiency, and competitiveness.

In addition, SBCCS facilitates business networking and market access by enabling B2B and B2G engagements, organising trade fairs, SME expos, and business missions, and supporting export readiness initiatives to ASEAN and global markets. The Chamber also assists members in accessing financing and business support, providing guidance on grants, loans, incentives, and investment opportunities through strategic partnerships with financial institutions and development agencies.

Through its integrated approach, SBCCS plays a vital role in accelerating Bumiputera economic empowerment, strengthening the SME ecosystem, and contributing to sustainable socio-economic development in Sabah.
